It is clear that it is an interesting time to be writing about wine. Famed wine critic Robert Parker recently retired from current California vintages, taking wine writing back a few years. Parker is famed both for the quality of his reviews, accessible writing style and his willingness to never start a wine of the month club of his own.
Of course in the 21st century, the internet is giving rise to a completely new group of wine writers. Bloggers across the country are covering the wine world in ways which was inconceivable even a decade ago. Small wineries now have the chance to gain as much, if not more coverage than household names like Mondavi and Gallo. For wine consumers across the country, that’s a really good thing isn’t it?
