I don’t like to admit this but I do have limited social skills in certain situations such as groups of people who all get on well together and I don’t seem to naturally click with them. I feel like intruding if I try and join in and if somebody ignored me or I did not come accross the right way it would be embarassing to be with these people all day. Whereas if I am socialising where people don’t know me then it doesn’t matter if I make a mistake like that. I don’t want to take a risk basically and the job is hard enough as it is. If I started socialising with people there and they liked me then I would have to keep talking to them whenever I see them and that is more work. At the moment I don’t have to make small talk with anyone hardly ever. It is easier and gives me more time to do other things but it is holding my social skills back and have had this problem a long time with groups of people like this who don’t know each other beforehand but seem very similar and make friends very quickly. I am intimidated by this and it puts me off as I feel like I am intruding if they are all together like that. I know this is the wrong attitude to take but I a having trouble shifting this and don’t know what to do to change the situation.

I want to tell you a short tale of how one man changed the whole fabric of his life simply by using a keyboard and an internet connection.  This man lived in Manilla and was twenty two years old although many would have put him as slightly older.   I’m not sure what his real name was, but he liked to be called ‘Jack’ and that’s the name we’ll have to call him.

In the 1900s we were always told that more is better. During and after the 2nd World War there was rationing in Europe. Meat and dairy was not readily available. People had to live on less.
